It should come as no surprise that Texas A&M drives much of our College Station real estate market. As a local realtor, I spend a lot of time working with parents of current students, former A&M students looking for gameday housing, or employees of Texas A&M. While each of my clients has different needs, one thing that many of them have in common is the need for a particular location. Many want to be close to campus. One of the close to campus locations is the Northside area. This area could include everything between University Dr, Wellborn Rd, Villa Maria, and Texas Ave, as shown in the picture. This is a large area. It is filled with single family housing, duplexes, fourplexes and some awesome revitalization. Northgate is undergoing a face-lift with new restaurants and luxury high-rise apartments being built left and right! To any of you old Ags’ that have not been to town in a while, you would not recognize the place!
What impact does the development of the Northside area have on our real estate market? It is my belief that properties in this area are being positively impacted. I am seeing homes being remodeled or torn down for something new! With such a great location, increasing home values, and new development, I think the Northside area will be a hot commodity in the coming years!
