About Castlegate

The Castlegate neighborhoods are split up with Castlegate and Castlegate 2, and the distinction grows out of Castlegate being the original housing development plan and Castlegate 2 being the more recent expansion project. Both of these neighborhoods are wonderfully located with Castlegate just off of William D. Fitch Parkway, and Castlegate 2 can be easily accessed by Greens Prairie Road West as well as Wellborn Road. The neighborhoods are also just 5 miles southwest of Texas A&M University and can easily be access by a short drive down Wellborn Road.

Living up to their name, both of the Castlegate neighborhoods have a prevalent old English theme with the “castle-like” architecture seen in many of the homes. The 800+ housing development of Castlegate is a master planned community built out in 13 unique phases over the last 10 years, while the Castlegate 2 portion is being continually expanded by builders such as David Weekley and Omega Builders, who can build a custom home in the neighborhood in 5-6 months. The average home price in the Castlegate areas is around $360,000, but these houses can easily be priced over $500,000. Perfect for families or new couples, the houses in the neighborhoods typically hold 3-4 bedrooms with anywhere from 2-5 full bathrooms in home sizes ranging from 1,500 to over 3,500 square feet. Many of the beautiful homes in the neighborhood are highlighted for their amenities such as granite countertops, spacious bedrooms, and gorgeous fireplaces. Though the two neighborhoods are side by side, the amenities of each neighborhood differ.

Castlegate 2 comes equipped with a wonderful community pool that residents of Castlegate can purchase a membership for from the HOA, while Castlegate has a family-friendly park situated in the center of the development. Touching back on the HOA, these neighborhoods have a stellar HOA with annual dues of $600 and an initial enrollment of $50.

Both neighborhoods are full of lush greenery that line their private roads, jogging trails winding throughout, ponds, and beautiful parks. The Castlegate Park is open for residents to enjoy its two lighted tennis courts, three ponds, basketball court, picnic tables, gazebo and shaded playground making it perfect for family outings. Castlegate 2 has its own state of the art resort style pool and splash pad open to the community. It also has a 4-acre lake stocked for fishing. Both of these subdivisions are also conveniently located close to shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities. A flagship H.E.B, Lowes, as well as countless restaurants are within 5 minutes drive. There are two elementary schools within walking distance to both subdivisions. Both Forest Ridge Elementary and Spring Creek Elementary are outstanding College Station ISD schools.
