It’s true that College Station is a college town, but that doesn’t mean that things aren’t happening when students are away. The Bryan/College Station area has its own vibrant, fun, and unique culture with plenty of local events and entertainment options to check out each month.

Messina Hof Harvest Festival

When: July 24 – 25, 2020

Description: Messina Hof Harvest Festival is a two day event in the month of July from July 24 – 25th. It features a wide range of events at the historic winery located in Bryan, TX including grape picking, stomping, and even a Roaring 20s-themed murder mystery 4 course dinner. Of course, you can also enjoy plenty of wine, food, cellar tours and more while at Messina Hof. Tickets for Harvest Festival events can be found here and tickets for the Murder Mystery dinner can be found at the link above. Harvest Festival events continue into the month of August.

 

Hands on History at the Museum of the American GI

When: Saturday, July 18th, 2020 @ 10:00 am through the 19th
Where: Museum of the American G.I., 19124 Highway 6 South, College Station, Texas 77845
Cost: $6 adults/5 military and seniors/4 for children ages 5-17, under 5 free

Description: The Museum of the American GI is holding a series of family-friendly and kid-focused events that will help them to actively learn about military history by allowing them to interact with exhibits, vehicles, and event a special look at the museum’s historical weapons vault. Additionally, there will be reenactments by the Lone Star Living History Crew who will “recreate aspects of daily life, diverse activities, and backgrounds of US Navy and USCG personnel on shipboard during WWII.” The museum and event are taking all necessary precautions to protect guests during the COVID-19 pandemic. Brazos Valley Farmer’s Market

When: Every Saturday from 8am – 12pm
Where: 500 N. Main Street, Bryan, TX 77808

Description: The Brazos Valley Farmer’s Market is the largest local farmers market in the BCS area. It happens every Saturday from 8am – 12pm and features a wide range of vendors, including Aggieland Coffee Co., Biryani Hut Indian Cuisine, BCS Chicken, 4C Cattle Company, Brand’s Farm, Circle J Farms, Polite Coffee, Texas Essential Wellness and more! The Brazos Valley is a pet-friendly market too, so bring your furballs and enjoy the eats, get some fresh produce, and support local growers and farmers.
