What if there was a place where you could spend a spring evening walking beside a lake, watching the sunset and enjoying all the best that local farmers, artisans and culinary artists have to offer? Even better, what if it was right here in BCS? Believe it or not, you can do exactly that when you visit The Local at Lake Walk.
There’s just something extra satisfying about supporting local establishments. It puts money directly back into the BCS economy and helps out our neighbors. But not everyone can have a storefront, so it’s fantastic that The Local provides an opportunity for an amazing variety of local vendors to showcase their talents.
That’s actually one of the best things about The Local – everything is handmade by the vendors! Have you thought about trying out a food truck? You’ll have a variety to choose from – or just sample them all. Looking for that perfect hand crafted gift or special piece of artwork? The Local has that, too. Maybe the perfect grilling sauce, spice mix, candle or bracelet? Yep, that too!
When it all started back in 2017, there were just a handful of vendors. But now The Local has grown to as many as 50 vendors during certain times of the year. Located at Lake Walk right next to the Stella Hotel in Traditions, it runs for 12 weeks every spring and fall. It takes place on Tuesdays from 4-7 pm, rain or shine. The first week of the Spring Season was March 7, but you can still enjoy every Tuesday through May 23rd. Yes, pets are welcome, as long as they’re on a leash and mind their manners!
