Oakwood Intermediate School
Nestled in the heart of Aggieland is CSISD’s Oakwood Intermediate School located at 106 Holik Street, just off of George Bush Drive. Home of the Wildcats, Oakwood Intermediate serves over 900 5th and 6th graders with their incredible staff and passionate teachers in a safe and positive learning environment that will allow them to transition from childhood to early adolescence.

These teachers here at Oakwood strive to “foster growth in their students’ minds through creative lessons, hands on activities, and rigorous, thought-provoking assessments.” Uniting the entirety of the school, their campus-wide vision is for “the staff, students, parents, and community to encourage and assist all students in developing a responsibility of becoming enthusiastic lifelong learners.”
Illustrating their dedication to academic accountability, Oakwood Intermediate met all measured standards and indicators by the TEA, as well as receiving a distinction designation in mathematics and exceeding the standard for postsecondary readiness. Ensuring that each and every student achieves academic success, this school offers several specialists, special services, and paraprofessionals to address all students’ needs, including dyslexia, GT, AVID, ESL, bilingual special education, dual language support, and math and reading specialists. Not only does Oakwood excel at academics, but their offered electives of art, music, orchestra, drama, and band are also excellent programs. Additionally, many before- and after-school clubs are offered to students, some of these include student council, a geography and spelling bee, UIL competitions, chess club, and soccer club.
Overlooking Texas A&M University, Oakwood Intermediate is situated nearby other CSISD schools, plenty of amenities, and wonderful subdivisions. Hugging either side of the school are College View High School and A&M Consolidated Middle School.
