Welcome to fall! I am excited to let you all know about a new organization that I am a part of. It is called Homes for Heroes. I am still a broker associate at TM5, this is just something I am doing in addition!
Homes for Heroes was started after 9/11 to honor ALL of the heroes in our communities. It is a nation wide organization of real estate professionals who want to thank and serve those in our communities who serve us every day. The organization includes realtors, lenders, inspectors and title companies. I was interviewed and asked to join this summer. So, I am just getting started!
Here is how it works:
- Who is a hero? Active or retired military, police, firemen, any first responder, healthcare workers, teachers, and other community heroes.
- How does it benefit them? As an organization, we give back to the buyer or seller in a real estate transaction. As a realtor, I give 25% of my commission on the sale directly back to the hero towards their closing costs. For example: Say you purchase a home for $250,000, my contribution towards your closing costs will be $1875. The lender also credits a percentage of what they make too. Recently, I had a closing that gave the hero $6000 towards their closing costs! It is quite a savings! In addition, there is no red tape, no income limits, no type of property limits!
