A new grocery store is coming to town and of course it will be Texas A&M themed!
Brookshire Brothers and Texas A&M have partnered to open the store on the west side of campus near the corner of George Bush Drive & Penberthy Boulevard. Brookshire Brothers president and CEO, John Alston, is an Aggie class of 2000. Alston said he is excited to be working with his alma mater on this venture.
The ground breaking took place on Thursday, August 22nd and will be the first Brookshire Brothers in Brazos County. This 40,000 square foot space it set to open Fall of 2020 and will employ 100-125 people. The brick exterior will resemble Texas A&M’s football stadium, Kyle Field.
Alston said the location will have the largest beer selection of any Brookshire Brothers store and will be be tailored to the students by offering curbside delivery straight to their dorms! Also in the plans is a live outdoor music venue similar to their Canyon Lake location that includes concessions, beer and wine by the glass.
Other features of the store will be:
- Coffee shop to accommodate 75 people
- Prepared food line
- Full service pharmacy
- Nutritional supplements
- An Aggie fan shop
- Online shopping with curbside or delivery
