One of the Brazos Valley’s largest and most active neighborhoods is Castlegate in south College Station. With over 1600 homes, the first phase of this beautiful subdivision was started in 2001 and new phases are still under construction today.

This is an area of the College Station home market which has seen tremendous growth. Divided into two sections roughly equal in size, Castlegate and Castlegate II have seen over 275 homes sold (new and resale) in the last 2 years. I personally sold 14 of those homes. There are a lot of reasons for all that activity, and amenities certainly sit at the top of that list. The Castlegate neighborhoods were designed with a plan, not just laid out on a square grid. There is intentional green space, including undisturbed greenbelts, parks and lakes. There are tennis and sports courts, playgrounds, pavilions and walking trails. Castlegate II even has a resort-style pool.

But amenities alone don’t explain the appeal of this amazing neighborhood. When it comes to selecting a location for a College Station home purchase, Castlegate is hard to beat. From a schools standpoint, Castlegate is located close to some of College Station ISD’s newest, including Wellborn Middle School and College Station High School. It is just a few minutes from Highway 6, the main north to south artery from College Station to Bryan. The nearest intersection to the highway includes an H-E-B grocery, Gold’s Gym, PetSmart, Lowe’s and other retail businesses. And if you love great food and lots of options, you’re not going to find a better selection. All the usual fast food places (including Chick-Fil-A) are right there, but so are some great options for sit-down dining. Castlegate residents enjoy quick access to Italian, Tex-Mex, Brazilian, Cajun, seafood and several steak houses. There are multiple excellent pizza options, as well.
