When you think of restaurants attached to hotels, a lot of things can come to mind. Usually, however, having a truly great dining experience is not one of them. I’d like to tell you about one that will change all that: Campfire restaurant in the Stella Hotel at Bryan’s Lakewalk.
You can start off your evening at Campfire with a stroll around the lake or, if your timing is right, enjoy one of the outdoor concerts or an event called “The Local” that is held on Tuesday nights in the Fall and Spring. It’s an outdoor market with vendors offering only local grown and produced items. But even if you’re just at Campfire to enjoy a brunch or dinner, you’re not going to be disappointed with what the menu has to offer. From omelets to shrimp & grits to avocado toast, the early menu offers a wide range of tasty choices.
Dinner options just might make this your new “go-to” place. The “Texas cuisine” menu is updated regularly, but one of the stars of the show is the braised beef shortrib, which is seasoned beautifully and cooked to fork-tender perfection. The Dr. Pepper BBQ glazed baby back ribs are also quite amazing! Paired with a side of smoked cheddar mac & cheese, this dish does not disappoint. These are just two of the other great options you’ll have to choose from. You’ll also have around a half dozen appetizer options as well as a variety of soup & salad choices.
Campfire is somewhat of a hidden gem, but don’t think that means you don’t need a reservation. They aren’t required, but are highly recommended. The atmosphere is elegant but casual on the inside and downright relaxing out by the fire pit. That’s one of the main reasons that those who have discovered Campfire keep going back. Just like the rest of Aggieland, it’s a great place to make a memory. Go give Campfire a try – I think you’ll like it!
