One of the new “gotta see that” destinations in Bryan-College Station is Aggie Park on the campus of Texas A&M University. This 20-acre gem was designed to be the ideal place for people to gather and enjoy not only on game day, but every day. Groundbreaking took place in early 2020 and it opened to the public in September 2022.

Located in the shadow of A&M’s historic Kyle Field, Aggie Park already feels like it’s been there for decades. The design was amazingly thorough and well-thought-out to create a space that allows both solitude and comradery. The peaceful waterfalls and lake offer the chance to picnic, study or even fish (catch & release). There’s an entertainment pavilion, outdoor amphitheater, tailgating space and even a creamery. All of these features are beautifully arranged in and under large oak trees, many of which were carefully rearranged to suit the park’s overall design.

It wouldn’t be an Aggie park without monuments and statues honoring individuals and traditions held dear by Aggies everywhere. In addition to an area dedicated to honoring Texas A&M’s annual bonfire, there is a magnificent Distinguished Alumnus tribute located near the Association of Former Students building, just over from the large Aggie ring. You don’t have to be a former student or even an Aggie fan to appreciate and enjoy this park, a fantastic addition to the Bryan-College Station community. This is a place for everyone, so the next time you’re near the A&M campus and have half an hour or half a day, go spend some time there. You’ll be really glad you did!
