The College Station neighborhood directly to the east of Texas A&M has always been undervalued and underappreciated, especially when it comes to real estate values. Today the neighborhood is a mixture of families & college students and the home lot sizes are large, ranging anywhere from 8500 – 15000 square feet. The architecture is an eclectic mix of homes from the period as early as the 1930’s, all the way to contemporary construction. As a result, expect to find a wide variety of home prices ranging from the $200,000’s to the $400,000’s. Located in the center of this historic neighborhood is Thomas Park. There you will find a spacious recreation area, paved jogging trails, tennis courts and its very own public swimming pool.
College Hills Elementary is located in the center of the neighborhood and is known for being an outstanding school with great cultural diversity. On the northwestern edge of the neighborhood you will find Laynes Restaurant, a locally owned eatery known for its famous chicken fingers. As is the case with most older neighborhoods with historical significance, the HOA’s in this area are quite active and commonly set forth certain property use restrictions.
